Belfield Podiatry Team

Mary Shina – Podiatrist

My name is Mary Shina, and I have been a registered podiatrist for 20 years.  I have worked in various podiatry practices including the High Risk Foot Service clinic at the Diabetes Centre at RPAH.  I enjoy my profession and maintain continual professional development by attending conferences, courses, workshops, seminars and compulsory CPR and first aid training annually.  I am also a member of the Australian Podiatry Association (NSW).  I am fluent in Arabic and take pride in making my clients happy.  I will do my best to attend to your needs and would be confident in providing optimal podiatric care.

Podiatry includes trimming and appropriate care of the toenails, debriding corns and callosities, addressing symptomatic feet with appropriate footwear advice and possibly accommodative or custom made orthoses for shoes.  Podiatry is also important in the care of those people who are classified as having a ‘high risk’ foot type such as diabetes and those with compromised circulation. My team at Belfield Podiatry will provide a Diabetes screening of the feet on initial consultation with 3, 6, 9 or 12 monthly reviews.  Any findings of concern we will notify you and your doctor in writing.

I am qualified to apply nail braces onto problematic ingrown nails as an option to reshape the growth in an attempt to avoid nail surgery.  For those problematic and reccurring ingrown toenails, where bracing is not an option, I do provide local anesthesia for minor nail surgery.

I have recently successfully completed a certificate in Advanced Dry Needling (using acupuncture needles) and a technique for joint mobilisations to treat musculoskeletal symptoms to alleviate pain.

Belfield Podiatry is conveniently located, with access via Blackwood Street (next door to Sweet Heart Café) and street parking is available.  There are no steps leading into the practice allowing easy wheelchair access.

I look forward to developing a professional podiatry relationship with you in the near future. Please do not hesitate to contact our clinic with any questions at any time.

Danielle Plusch – Podiatrist
In 2014 I graduated with a Bachelor in health science and masters in Podiatric medicine with honours from the University of Western Sydney.  I am an experienced podiatrist in foot ailments such as corn, callous, warts and ingrown toenails.  I hold particular interest in nail bracing and minor nail surgery using local anaesthesia as an option for stubborn ingrown toenails.

I have enjoyment in a range of sports from dancing to swimming and basketball.  I love to watch a good soccer match once in a while, which has helped develop my interest in the lower limb biomechanics.  I treat symptoms associated with heel pain, forefoot complaints, arch pain, lower limb pathologies and knee pain.

As part of my professional registration I maintain professional development by attending seminars, conferences and workshops on a regular basis.  I also complete compulsory CPR and first aid training annually as required by the Podiatry Registration Board.

I am driven by passion for podiatry to give you the best possible care and treatment, to help alleviate your symptoms.  I will do my best to keep you happy.   I have a warm and friendly nature and am looking forward to meeting you.
